The rise & rise of informal weddings

Posted on May 14, 2018 by [email protected]

Over the past few years, the trend in wedding celebrations has been away from the stiff, formal weddings of old and towards a more informal gathering of friends and family. Couples no longer feel the need to invite large numbers of acquaintances, and these smaller, more intimate celebrations are allowing the couple to focus on finer details rather than catering for large numbers.

The food served has also shifted away from the traditional; long gone are the starched napkins and silver service waiters, and more intimate and approachable styles of dining are increasingly popular.

Sharing platters are an increasingly popular option with couples of all ages; a variety of large platters placed in the centre of the table for guests to share, family-style. This is a great way for guests to get to know each other during the meal. Another alternative which is showing a rise in popularity is the fork buffet, which can also include barbecued items if the weather and venue are suitable. Both these options can prove very cost effective for couples working within a budget.

At dine delivered we offer a range of sharing platters suitable for all occasions; some, such as our rich chicken feijoada above, are delivered in their own retro enamel dish, which can go straight from oven to table. Others are presented on bamboo platters so they can be served immediately or be warmed through if you prefer. These options include dishes for all dietary requirements- just enter the details and our system will propose the appropriate platters.

All you need to do then is relax and enjoy the day!
